Comparing Music Magazine Covers

There are some clear difference between between Top of the Pops and The Source magazines. As the Top of the Pops is for kids who enjoy pop artists, and the The source id for adults. The target audience is very different from each magazine as Top of the Pops is aimed at young girls around the ages of 9-16, where as The Source is aimed at older men around the age of 25+.   The magazine featuring Jessy J is a pop genre and the one featuring Dr. Dre is a hip hop genre.  The masthead for Top of the Pops is a bright and bold font the vibrant colour pink, which appeals to girls as pink is a girly colour and the audience will know it is aimed a t young people.  The colour pallet for the magazines are completely different

Mojo is a magazine that is for serious music lovers who like a series of different musics  but issue  is mostly  focused on classic rock. Mojo's target audience is from 35-70 year olds that are mostly men but some females. It is a magazine of high brand and integrity, the media language on this cover appeals to the target audience for a number of reasons.  The cover of this magazine  features a low angle medium close up of the famous UK/USA band   Fl eetwood M ac. The main image uses a monochrome colour pallet (black, white and red) with small patches of yellow dotted around, which is a masculine colour scheme. This use of colour connotes a serious tone and is appropriate for a rock band magazine aimed at male readers 35+ with a serious interest in music.  U nderneath the main image is a picture of The iconic ban is their younger days but it is flipped as though they are looking up at their older selves.
