1960s Cover October 66
Five things i know about 1960s attitudes-

- Racism
- Sexism
- Homophobia
- Nationalism
- Worried about war

Gender/ sexism-
- a respectful low-angle shot of the queen.
- to show that she is the one in power and not her husband the Duke of Edinburgh
- This shows a change in democracy as their is not a King to rule but the Queen, making it a good thing for gender as we have had around 8 Queens
- a down low-shot of Duke of Edinburgh back
- to show that his is not the power figure, and that the queen is more important
- less important view of the duke of Edinburgh the Queens husband, anti-feminism because feminism is about equality
- Didn't get the name of king to show that the queen is the ruler

- this shows women in lingerie
- objectification of women as you don't see men in their boxers
- shows progression in the terms of the contraceptive pill and attitude
- This shows racism as they said that the dark skin, people have to go back to Spain and they will have the rock
- The article said 'Spain can have the apes' this is an example of racism
- In short they are saying black people/ dark skin are not welcome
Nationalism -
- Traditional britishness
- tea and welsh cakes
- An example of British History As we are known for drinking tea with cakes
Not sure if this is nationalism <--

Great notes/observations, well done.
