Top tips for writing a sports story
- know you audience (age,class,gender)
- Do your research
- Make it interesting (write in a way you would enjoy reading, putting your own spin on it, words you chose)
- Validation (who can back up what the story is about, who can give their opinion, what they have said their quotes, make it local)
- How are you pitching it? (how your going to advertise it? make it sound interesting to your group, relevant)
- Where you can add your spin? (local audience)
- A tight interesting intro (crucial, capture the audience from the first line/ sentence, no more that 20-25
